Very well articulated. Recently, during one business negotiation, I have used another important skill i.e. emotional quotient (IQ), due to which I was able to negotiate the deal in my favour.

Absolutely. Emotional management is a key skill in negotiations. Thanks for bringing this up.

All successful people have a high EQ. It's not that they don't experience the usual emotions. They have to battle their emotions like everyone else. What the people with high EQ have is high emotional self-awareness. This helps them to center themselves faster. During a negotiation, having a coping mechanism for managing one's psychological state and to be able to sense the emotions of the other party is crucial indeed.

Daniel Goleman's book - "Emotional Intelligence" is a masterpiece explaining this key ability.

It is an extremely important aspect which everyone experiences or exercises in their daily life. Very well articulated and brought out . Henry Kissinger’s name comes out at the top being known as a successful negotiator. Looking forward for the next one .
