Avoiding being harsh on yourself also sets you up for performing better next day. It may also lead to another level of optimism. Works great.

In my experience, if you keep talking down to yourself you lose the inner drive to do well. If you don’t believe if yourself, it won’t make a difference if others do. It’s good to be critical to yourself but in a healthy way. You wrote this article very well.
